The Limited Edition ATACAMA™ Expedition Tent in Ivory

Beat the heat and take motorcycle camping to the next level with the Atacama Expedition Tent in Ivory. The clean, new color is minimal and calm for a truly elevated experience, and the light hue reflects the sun's rays to minimize heat in scorching weather. The new Ivory model is a limited edition release of the proven Redverz Atacama design.

Why Atacama? The revolutionary design offers more usable space, a separate garage and packs small. It’s considerably more tent for just 21 inches x 10 inches packed and on a motorcycle that's a big deal. Even a minimalist traveller rides with a helmet, boots, armored jacket and pants. This alone is a huge pile of gear to store, and if you’re riding two-up that's double the load. If you sleep in anything less than a 2-person tent that gear has got to stay outside in the elements, or it comes in leaving you with little room to stretch out and get truly comfortable. Stop compromising. The Atacama is so thoughtfully designed you can even stand up inside, and if you didn't already know, standing up inside a tent is life-changing.

Stand Up Inside. Packs to 21" x 10" and Weighs 14 pounds.

SLEEPING

Ignore the gargantuan garage for a moment. We know, it’s so spacious. Let’s start with capacity. The tent sleeps 3 but is designed for all configurations of 1, 2 or 3 campers.

single-bed.pngqueen-bed.png3-up.png

Real world - how big is the bedroom?

1 Up - Think twin bed XL with a bed side camp chair and your riding gear generously spread about the room.

2 Up - A queen size mattress with ample space either side for your gear and your own unique entry/exit door.

3 Up - Pack it all in. Plenty of room for three standard pads but personal gear, like stinky socks and boots will store out in the garage. Need even more capacity? Use the garage area for additional campers. Throw a custom fit garage ground sheet down and invite a handful of friends to sleep over. That’s functional, versatile design at its best.

GARAGE/VESTIBULE

This is where it all happens in the Atacama Tent. Two opposing garage doors taper up from the bottom creating an entry you can ride any full-size touring adventure bike into, with panniers no less. Park up and there’s still loads of room to store gear and move about. The two main reasons to bring the bike inside are security and weather. It’s just practical to work on your bike or pack up gear out of the elements and rain. If security and theft are an issue, keeping the bike out of sight is a huge advantage. In reality, most customers use the extra space to simply hang out and lounge. Park up a few HELINOX camp chairs and a table and you’ve got a civilized place to sip coffee, host a happy hour and share a meal. Ask any Redverz customer and they will tell you that it's well worth the investment, especially as you wait out the first, torrential downpour all sheltered, comfy and dry.

TECH

Let’s get geeky about waterproofing for a moment. The Atacama outer fly sheet is fully waterproof at 4000mm hydrostatic head. When a storm comes through rest easy, at 4000mm hydrostatic head we far exceed the industry standard and are rated expedition grade. The tent floor and ground sheets are a whopping 10,000mm and set the gold standard for waterproofing and reliability. Read customer testimonials here to understand for yourself the value of a dry tent.

POLES

Poles are the most critical tent component. We source ours from the world’s top tent pole manufacturer and build them out of the finest aircraft grade aluminum available.  We designed an intentional pre-bend into each pole, a fine contour that helps to reduce stress and ensure top performance. Over time the poles will settle into an even more pronounced arc, this is beneficial and intentional. The gear is expedition grade and built to last, so whatever your trip throws at you these poles are designed to bring you home.

The Atacama is the third generation of our original, patented motorcycle tent. We're proud to say our unique garage design was the first of its kind and birthed an entirely new tent genre back in 2008. As riders we design with the specific needs of motorcyclists in mind, and as innovators we set design trends that others simply follow.

ATACAMA ACCESSORIES - Complete your Atacama set up with custom fit groundsheets for the sleep area and garage and a 50 liter dry bag to stow it all away.

    Easy setup

Posted by Docever on 10th Apr 2017

Overall I like the tent, but only when traveling with others. When on the road alone there are plenty of tents that pack much smaller and weight much less. But I love the height and the privacy of the giant vestibule. As I get older, lying down in a small tent to get dressed in private kind of stinks. But with this tent that is no issue. I found it sets up easy, and stows away easy as well. Plenty of additional guide wires if it's really windy but not necessary every time. I have yet to ever park my bike inside, but that would be really nice in heavy rain, or perhaps when leaving a campsite unattended for a day hike. Seems well built and well thought out.

    Great product!

Posted by mlarson on 10th Apr 2017

Holy cow! I don't know why I didn't buy this tent sooner. This tent is awesome. Easily room for three adult-sized folks in the sleeping area and lots of gear storage in the 'porch'. It is so much nicer being able to stand up inside my tent to put on clothing/gear without having to bend over or lay down to do so. The tent is water proof and allows great air flow throughout the sleeping space. Set up and tear down takes about 10-15 minutes....but that was before coffee. I purchased both ground groundsheets (one for the sleeping area and one for the 'porch') and they both work effectively. I use this tent for motorcycle camping and although on the heavier side of tents available, it is worth the extra few pounds to not have to crawl around on my hands and knees. Definitely recommend this tent and would purchase it again.

    Very Good Tent

Posted by Unknown on 10th Apr 2017

The Redverz tent is a good one, we have a smaller back packing tent we used for several years but we were tired of crawling in and out and trying to get dressed in it. If you have room to haul this one you you will like it. We dont park our bikes in it but use the garage to sit in and with the garage foot print you keep things out of the dirt.

    Cant ask for something better

Posted by Unknown on 10th Apr 2017

Before riding a 5000k miles trip around Utah, Arizona, California, Nevada and Colorado I looked for 2 month and saw so many tents. When I found this one I asked to my self if was worse to spend so much money. Trust me is imposible to regret about it. Is so well design and perfect to mount it in all kind of weather. Super easy. I was happy that I bought the groundsheet (helps so badly for keeping your tent clean and is so easy to leave it on or take it before folding. The awning kit is really good to specially to hang out at your rest area.

    Exceeded Expectations

Posted by Unknown on 10th Apr 2017

I am a former Marine who researches every piece of kit I buy. I spend hours on forums, or reading the most recent motorcycle magazines in order to ensure my money supports the best product for me. This tent is exceptional. I went on a trip without practicing putting it up prior to embarking (I usually just slide into a bivy sack and rack out), and was able to set this thing up in the rain without an issue. The design is great. You can set it up in inclement weather which, if you lay it out properly, rain/snow will not get inside the sleeping quarters. I could use a few more pockets to place items (they have two decent pockets inside the tent), but I like having order inside my tent. My friends initially thought I was nuts to buy such a large tent, but once they realize that I am usually within 1-2lbs of their tents, BUT I get massive size to work on my bike, they ask right away where to buy one. I've noticed that Redverez now makes a one person tent. I don't tolerate people well, and usually travel alone, but I can say that the weight different between the one person and the 2-3 person isn't large enough to concern me (maybe if you are sub 500cc it might be a better idea to get the one person). If you are looking for a tent for your motorcycle adventure, please consider this one. Revzilla is still fantastic. I ordered with free shipping and received in 2 days.)

    Groundsheet

Posted by Mike Karnes on 9th Apr 2017

This is pretty simple - snap the small buckles of the ground sheet to the sleeping bay. They are the only buckles of that size on the tent. I left mine attached to the tent when I packed the tent.

    Atacama Review

Posted by John Brock on 21st Feb 2017

I was surprised when I was able to set up the tent in only 13 minutes, on my first attempt. This included figuring out which side was up, and which end was which. After paying attention to the way that I rolled and repacked the tent, I believe I can get the setup time to around 6 minutes. Also, I couldn't believe the size of the sleeping area. Huge, compared to my other tents. Great quality. A lot of thought went into this tent design.

    Motel 6 in a Bag!

Posted by Rob Burke on 31st Dec 2016

I received the Atacama Expedition tent in July. I then took a 4-week motorcycle tour of 21 states. I spent and entire week in the Great Smoky Mountains each night in this tent. The fit and finish are astounding. It paid for itself in just a few nights as I didn't have to stay in motels. I have inside this tent during a hard rain and no leaks, no drips, no errors. I will use this tent anytime I camp. The service I received from Kevin and Christine as very professional. These are good people who sell a great tent.
