The Limited Edition ATACAMA™ Expedition Tent in Ivory

Arriving October 5, 2022.

Beat the heat and take motorcycle camping to the next level with the Atacama Expedition Tent in Ivory. The clean, new color is minimal and calm for a truly elevated experience, and the light hue reflects the sun's rays to minimize heat in scorching weather. The new Ivory model is a limited edition release of the proven Redverz Atacama design.

Why Atacama? The revolutionary design offers more usable space, a separate garage and packs small. It’s considerably more tent for just 21 inches x 10 inches packed and on a motorcycle that's a big deal. Even a minimalist traveller rides with a helmet, boots, armored jacket and pants. This alone is a huge pile of gear to store, and if you’re riding two-up that's double the load. If you sleep in anything less than a 2-person tent that gear has got to stay outside in the elements, or it comes in leaving you with little room to stretch out and get truly comfortable. Stop compromising. The Atacama is so thoughtfully designed you can even stand up inside, and if you didn't already know, standing up inside a tent is life-changing.

Stand Up Inside. Packs to 21" x 10" and Weighs 14 pounds.

SLEEPING

Ignore the gargantuan garage for a moment. We know, it’s so spacious. Let’s start with capacity. The tent sleeps 3 but is designed for all configurations of 1, 2 or 3 campers.

single-bed.pngqueen-bed.png3-up.png

Real world - how big is the bedroom?

1 Up - Think twin bed XL with a bed side camp chair and your riding gear generously spread about the room.

2 Up - A queen size mattress with ample space either side for your gear and your own unique entry/exit door.

3 Up - Pack it all in. Plenty of room for three standard pads but personal gear, like stinky socks and boots will store out in the garage. Need even more capacity? Use the garage area for additional campers. Throw a custom fit garage ground sheet down and invite a handful of friends to sleep over. That’s functional, versatile design at its best.

GARAGE/VESTIBULE

This is where it all happens in the Atacama Tent. Two opposing garage doors taper up from the bottom creating an entry you can ride any full-size touring adventure bike into, with panniers no less. Park up and there’s still loads of room to store gear and move about. The two main reasons to bring the bike inside are security and weather. It’s just practical to work on your bike or pack up gear out of the elements and rain. If security and theft are an issue, keeping the bike out of sight is a huge advantage. In reality, most customers use the extra space to simply hang out and lounge. Park up a few HELINOX camp chairs and a table and you’ve got a civilized place to sip coffee, host a happy hour and share a meal. Ask any Redverz customer and they will tell you that it's well worth the investment, especially as you wait out the first, torrential downpour all sheltered, comfy and dry.

TECH

Let’s get geeky about waterproofing for a moment. The Atacama outer fly sheet is fully waterproof at 4000mm hydrostatic head. When a storm comes through rest easy, at 4000mm hydrostatic head we far exceed the industry standard and are rated expedition grade. The tent floor and ground sheets are a whopping 10,000mm and set the gold standard for waterproofing and reliability. Read customer testimonials here to understand for yourself the value of a dry tent.

POLES

Poles are the most critical tent component. We source ours from the world’s top tent pole manufacturer and build them out of the finest aircraft grade aluminum available.  We designed an intentional pre-bend into each pole, a fine contour that helps to reduce stress and ensure top performance. Over time the poles will settle into an even more pronounced arc, this is beneficial and intentional. The gear is expedition grade and built to last, so whatever your trip throws at you these poles are designed to bring you home.

The Atacama is the third generation of our original, patented motorcycle tent. We're proud to say our unique garage design was the first of its kind and birthed an entirely new tent genre back in 2008. As riders we design with the specific needs of motorcyclists in mind, and as innovators we set design trends that others simply follow.

ATACAMA ACCESSORIES - Complete your Atacama set up with custom fit groundsheets for the sleep area and garage and a 50 liter dry bag to stow it all away.

    Redverz Atacama Expedition

Posted by Kc Chapman on 27th Apr 2021

I ordered this last minute over the phone (amazing customer service) I was headed out on a trip and I had it shipped overnight. I loaded it on the GSA without even opening it. By the time I got to my camp it was dark. I thought setting up would be a pain but it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out. (They have a great tutorial on YouTube) Very Roomy, well built and excellent Quality. It may be a bit heavy or bulky for some people but to that I say, “Ditch the crap you won’t use and strap this tent on.”

Redverz Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent Green

Posted by Robert Gonzales on 11th Apr 2021

Just received the tent and ground sheets two weeks ago. Just put it up for a three day trip. The tent was very easy to put up. Went through two days of heavy to all day rains and wind speeds to 35 mph. The tent held up well and stayed bone dry. I was amazed at the size of the garage area until you see it first hand you wouldn't believe it. Very well made tent. Man sure to stake all areas at the base. Only thing that would be nice which is the something I have heard was to have a couple place to hand small lanterns off rings in the garage area. Excellent tent

    Outstanding Tent!

Posted by Sal on 4th Apr 2021

The price did make me think hard about this purchase, but as soon as I got the tent and opened the box, you see where that money went. Excellent quality and the easiest tent I have ever pitched, despite its size. And speaking of size, if you don't have enough room in this tent, it's time for an RV! Fits me, my R1200GS, and all of my gear comfortably and still packs relatively small for its pitched size. Since it does weigh around 14 lbs, it would be a challenge to pack on a lightweight dual sport with all other necessary gear. But, if you will do a lot of camping on a big ADV bike, look no further!

    Bigger is better

Posted by Phil Webb on 27th Jan 2021

Just spent my first couple of nights away in my new Atacama Tent. I had not even taken it out of the bag since receiving it and not fitted the ground sheet. I was amazed on how easy it was to fit the ground sheet and put the tent up single handed. In the 3 days away I had 40 degrees Celsius temps and a full night of rain. The tent preformed amazingly and I am more than happy with my purchase. It’s amazing the size of the tent once it’s setup, I also got the 50ltr dry bag to keep it in. It’s amazing the size that it pacs down to, smaller than you would think for a tent this size. The only thing I would change is the size if the mozzie mesh. Should be slightly smaller to stop midgies. Well done Kevin for designing such a great tent.

    Redverz Atacama expedition motorcycle tent

This is the one tent you need without any doubt. It is huge volume but packs away small enough to a manageable size to carry on your bike light weight but tuff.. Quality pegs, poles & worth every penny. Miles ahead of anything else. Additional Extra Ground sheets are worth the purchase but should of been included as standard.

    5 1/2 Year Review

Posted by Scott Rathyen on 5th Nov 2020

I have been using this tent for motorcycle camping trips around North America from Bike Rallies to National Parks and everything else that comes along . It has been through violent wind and rain storms in the mountains and dust/sand storms out west that have trashed other tents around me and this thing hands down is built like a tank and the best tent I have ever owned or ever used in over 30yrs of motorcycle camping. The room it offers being able to cook or hang out or whatever in foul weather and be comfortable is one of it's best features over all. The sleeping area fits a queen size air mattress with plenty of room to still be able to move arount it or stash more gear. The height is another big plus i'm 6'4 and this really works for me. It may not be the smallest or lightest but after using it you will find a way to make room for it. You get what you pay for and this tent is worth it for what it has to offer and to anyone looking for a tent for motorcycle camping or any type of camping I can't recommend this tent enough. Be Safe and Happy Adventuring!!!!

    Taj Mahal

Posted by Dan Wilson on 23rd Aug 2020

I called Redverz on short notice, asking them to expedite delivery of their Atacama Expedition Motorcycle tent for my trip to Sturgis, South Dakota. They did, and I used it during my 11 day round-trip to Sturgis from Mariposa, California. The first night was near Ely, Nevada, at Ward Mountain State Park. The set-up was intuitive, and quick. I felt like I was sleeping in the Taj Mahal, and it was comforting to have my Harley (the biggest model for 2020) in the tent with me. Thank you to Redverz for a superb home away from home!

    Best tent ever!

Posted by Donna A on 19th Jul 2020

I took my tent out camping last weekend where we had some heavy rains all night long. It maintained interior dryness 100%! Super high quality materials and design. You can tell they really put a lot of attention to the details. I twas easy to pitch and happens all in one effort with the tarp coming up with the tent. That's a great feature if it's lightly raining out....everything that needs to stay dry, does. I love the various ways you can configure the openings to promote airflow or warmth, shady seating or fully fortified for extreme weather. If I had one thing to change it would be to make a waterproof window in the sleeping bay so you can see out of it in heavy weather and not get claustrophobic. Maybe that will be the next upgrade? Regardless, this is the tent I've always wanted but never knew it....so glad I took the plunge and invested in it! thank you Redverz!

I find it easy as any back pack tent Ive ever owned , to set up and take down.

Posted by PolarBear Owens on 20th Apr 2020

I’ve been solo mostly, but wife retires this coming year :). I’m very much attached to my tent, don’t like changes in my life much but just maybe I shop with you again :). I never use the garage for my bikes, but it’s SO very useful otherwise . I’ve only experienced a couple camps where the tent is too big to fit. These are national parks . As a solo adventurer and a GSA sidecar enthusiast these days, I have near zero issues packing a few home comfy items most 2 wheelers find difficult. The tent has traveled a lot of years on my backseat before I converted to sidecar life. My recent Death Valley trip was on my vintage airhead I’ve owned 45 years. Redverz was packed on my seat , it’s still two wheels:). I gotta cut this saga but the tent has served me very well a long long time and I find it easy as any back pack tent Ive ever owned , to set up and take down. It’s big indeed but my time in this game, I can break camp in short order . Set up too.
