SLEEPING BAY GROUNDSHEET ($49)
The Single Best Upgrade for Your Sleeping Bay
The Atacama's bathtub floor is waterproof. But without a groundsheet underneath, cold ground and moisture still transfer through — and that's where condensation starts, from below the floor, not above it.
This custom-fit groundsheet sits beneath the sleeping bay, between the tent floor and the ground. It breaks the cold transfer, dramatically reduces condensation inside the sleeping area, and protects the bathtub floor from abrasion on rough or rocky surfaces.
If you're using cots, it matters even more. Cot legs sit directly on the floor. Over time, on harder terrain, that contact wears through. This groundsheet takes that punishment instead.
Why It's Worth $49
— Eliminates direct ground-to-floor contact — the primary source of condensation in the sleeping bay
— Protects the bathtub floor from gravel, rock, and rough surfaces
— Essential if you're using cots — prevents leg abrasion on the floor over time
— Custom-fit to the Atacama sleeping bay — no excess material, no pooling edges
— Clearly marked SLEEP so there's no confusion with the garage groundsheet
— Lightweight 6oz material — adds almost nothing to pack weight
Most condensation issues in tents come from the ground up. This is the fix.
Most riders buy both
Pro tip
Always tuck any excess material under the tent floor. Exposed edges act as water channels. Tucked edges stay dry.

Ground sheet
The ground sheet has been really great. It keeps ground moisture out of the tent and helps to protect the sleeping bottom. We jave also found it helpfully when packing up the tent and use it at a guide for where to fold. Well worth having.

Atacama groundsheet/ sleeping
Works, attaches easy, my hi-cot doesn't sink, can be wet in the am depending on where you camp. Just be sure you dry everything out when you get home, like always. I have a 6ft x 8ft tarp I am going to try under the sleeping bay to keep the tent bottom dry and have a dry place to roll up the tent, then fold that up flat and put it in the bottom of my LARGE dry bag.

Groundsheet Sleep Bay
When you buy the Atacama tent be sure to buy the groundsheets. I bought the sleep bay and it kept moisture out of the tent. I didn't buy the other groundsheet which would have kept sand & debris from being tracked in; I'm ordering it now.
