Redverz Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent — Ivory

The Atacama is a motorcycle expedition tent built for riders who go places.
Not a weekend warrior tent. Not a glamping setup. A purpose-built shelter designed around a full-size adventure tourer — panniers, luggage and all — that sets up solo in under five minutes and holds its shape when everything else is moving.
It's currently running in the Simpson Desert in Australia, through sub-Saharan Africa, across South America, and on routes through Europe and North America. Riders use it because it works. Because it's still working 14, 15, 16 years later. Because when the weather turns, it doesn't.
The Ivory colorway reflects heat rather than absorbing it — a practical advantage in desert and high-summer conditions.
This is the tent you buy once.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Paid for itself in a few nights. Bone dry in hard rain.”
— Rob, 4-week US motorcycle tour

The Garage

Two opposing J-doors open wide enough to ride a full-size adventure tourer straight in. Panniers on. No unloading in the rain. No gear left outside.

Standing headroom throughout. Use it as your living room, your workshop, your drying room. When the weather closes in, this is where you eat, plan, and wait it out.

It's not a vestibule. It's a room.

Sleeping Bay

Rectangular floor plan. Vertical walls. Enough space to sleep three, use cots for two, or spread out solo with room for gear.

Separate entry and exit doors mean two riders never have to climb over each other. Flow-through ventilation runs air from one end to the other — essential in heat.

Configurations

— 1 Up — full space to yourself. Gear stays inside. No compromises.

— 2 Up — queen-size footprint. Separate doors. Each rider has their own exit.

— 3 Up — tight but workable. Move gear to the garage bay.

Built for Real Weather

4000mm hydrostatic head on the fly. 10,000mm on the floor.

To put that in context: most camping tents rate between 1500–3000mm. The Atacama's floor rating is more than three times that — because when water pools around a tent in a storm, the floor is where it gets in.

Factory-sealed seams throughout. Bathtub floor construction. This isn't expedition-grade waterproofing as a marketing claim — it's what you need when the weather doesn't care about your schedule.

The Frame

Aircraft-grade aluminium poles, pre-bent to shape. The hoop design creates vertical inner walls — that's what gives you the headroom and the structural integrity in high winds.

Flexible enough to absorb gusts. Rigid enough to hold shape through the night. The frame is why this tent is still standing after 15 years of hard use in the hands of people who ask a lot of their gear.

What Riders Say

“I received the Atacama Expedition tent in July. I then took a 4-week motorcycle tour of 21 states. I spent an entire week in the Great Smoky Mountains each night in this tent. The fit and finish are astounding. It paid for itself in just a few nights as I didn't have to stay in motels. I have used this tent during a hard rain and no leaks, no drips, no errors.”

— Rob

“They laugh about the bike in the garage tent but then when it's raining, snowing or blowing out it's suddenly the most popular tent in the campground. I've had this particular tent for nearly a year now and I love how roomy it is, how I can stand up to change my clothes, the ventilation that prevents moisture buildup and how much space there is for storage.”

— Eric Hall

“Purchased this to encourage my wife to join me on longer moto trips. Not only did that work out wonderfully, but I'm using it on a regular basis when camping solo. Feels high quality, all the zippers are super smooth, and I stayed 3 nights in wind and rain without a drop penetrating the outer shell.”

— Joel

“I would venture to say there is not a better design for two adults that is comfortable. The level of detail in the design of the tent is clearly obvious. On top of it, the company takes pride in their product.”

— Aditya

    Trouble Deciding

Posted by tugdiver on 8th Apr 2015

I looked at two other tent with garage manufactures after finding out that the tent alone was about the same packing size as the tent with a garage and the tent alone wasn't as tall. I know that a good portion of biking anywhere occurs in the rainy seasons. This space is great. I had a surprise when I opened the package. I was leaning to another tent because it advertised better material. I was super pleased to see my Redverz expedition was made out of this great material. I am vey pleased with how fast my first set up went and I look forward to many adventures.

    Good for a long trip

Posted by Geoff on 6th Apr 2015

I have had the tent for a while now and have travelled across Australia using it. I am very happy with the tent and have no issues using it on the return leg; been sleeping in it for about 28 days now and still look forward to the next 28 or so days. There has obviously been a lot of thought put into the tent and the attention to detail is excellent. I have had a few problems with the pegs, we have some rocky ground which they don’t like. Overall I’m glad I bought the tent and will use it for many years to come.

    Well constructed tent

Posted by Unknown on 1st Apr 2015

Went camping last night with our new tent. Set it up easily in the dark no problems. All zippers and seams no flaws. Love the garage area. No complaints. It took us 6 months to decide on this purchase. We are real happy with it.

    Fabulous tent

Posted by Bill on 1st Mar 2015

Easy to haul on a bike and a nice bag to keep everything organized. Our first weekend camping in this tent was met with all night thunderstorms both nights. We drove in the last stake as the rain drops started. Luckily we had some stools and got settled in the garage area to watch the storm. The bikes didn't get to come in out of the weather this trip. We had rivers of water coming through the garage area and the mud flows along with it. We kept glancing over at the sleeping area expecting water and it didn't happen. We went to sleep listening to the pouring rain all night long and stayed perfectly dry and got a great nights sleep. Repeat exactly the same thing the next night. Quick up, quick down. This tent is awesome. Just buy it!

    First Impressions

Posted by Barry on 25th Feb 2015

Received the tent very quickly. Had several questions and emails were replied to quickly. Had responses the following day both times. Have only put it up once so far. Will take quite a few setups to do this quickly. The videos certainly make it look a lot easier than it was the first time. I know that a little experience will make a lot of difference. Tent seems well built. I have a Goldwing with a luggage rack on the trunk. The back edge of the rack hits the tent way too hard and would wear through the tent quickly. Front tire still stuck out the other side about six inches. Without a rack you "could" fit a Goldwing inside but would still be very tight. I was able to get the zippers down but was difficult. I would say it is not big enough for this size of motorcycle. Plan a trip from Oklahoma to Nova Scotia in September so will know a lot more after that. One night in Texas in April so that will help better understand how to set it up.

Quality build for a big tent

Posted by Unknown on 17th Feb 2015

My background in tents comes from high altitude mountaineering. I would not hesitate to pay twice as much for a tent that was 75 % smaller... I set the tent up twice in the park, opening every door looking at the details and found not a flaw in its construction!! It sets easily and has ample tie downs for the wind. I bought both of the ground cloths for it and will use it without the included tent. Just the the waterproof fly and the ground footprints will be more than ample for most 3 season usage. The sew house that makes this tent is first class

    Great tent

Posted by Geoff on 4th Feb 2015

Just received the Atacama Expedition tent and have only set it up in the back yard but it seems a great tent. The design is really good and it will be a luxury having so much tent space on a motorcycle trip. The build quality is really good with obvious thought going into some of the features. Very much looking forward to taking this tent on my next trip (~8 to 10,000kms).

At Sturgis 2014 with new tent

Posted by Bill in colorado on 11th Aug 2014

Took some time to set up, when done the tent was very enjoyable. Bike fit right in, it repelled the rain and stood up to the wind. great tent but wish it was a little bit cheaper. I like it better than my canvas tent with no room for bike. Will enjoy for years to come. Good tent, like the green color best.

    Tent

Posted by neil on 2nd Aug 2014

Just spent 7 days in silverton co, tent performed just as it was represented, had several days of rain and everything was dry and cozy. Bike fit well inside vestibule with room for my gear on one side still leaving room to enter and room for a chair to remove my shoes before entering sleeping area. Was larger than picture in my head and it set up and packed well. Would not hesitate to buy another
