Bought my tent a year ago, travelled across Canada and the USA and back, camping all the way. The tent was subject to a variety of conditions ranging from still sunny days to stormy nights. For its size, the tent is incredibly versatile. It survived huge electrical storms in Alberta, sheet rain showers that lasted all night in Manitoba, kept out an abundance of blood sucking critters in Ontario and amazingly survived the wicked winds of hurricane Irene in Newfoundland. Other riders i met along the way thought it strange for a single rider to have such a large tent- most were cob smacked when i showed them the KTM 990 inside. Great stuff, Pete Sweetnam,BC Canada
My riding buddies are jealous! While they are cramped up in their micro backpacking tents, fighting off the crawly critters that moved into their gear overnight and scrunched up like a poorly packaged sardine when forced to sit out the rain, I'm comfortable in my "Harley Hacienda" sipping coffee and reading a book! Used it several times. Once in Maine at 34 degrees, once in SC in the mid fifties and several times here in Florida btw 70-80. Love the ventilation options. I can set it up pretty easily if not quickly now and I can put my Goldwing ( optioned with Baker Air Wings, spoiler and trailer hitch) in the garage, completely zipped. So far I love this tent. I would like to express my appreciation for all the effort you have gone to to get me the Ténéré tent bag. I didn't realize it would be coming from America. Much appreciated. Mike Fabling, Highland Classic MC Club. Scotland
I made good use of your tent and grounsheet in Canoe, British Columbia. The tent stood up very well to a heavy thunderstorm that was windy enough to topple a tree onto the pavement and hit a moving car and cause an overnight power loss in the area. Kevin Kennedy Ontario
I am a huge fan of your tent and still can’t believe that you converted me from my small backpacking tent to my own personal “cabin in the woods”, which I still find amazing because I am so driven to pack small and light. Dave Ride West BMW
Just a quick note to let you know our new tent is working out fantastic for kayaking. We are always amazed how quickly we can pop the shell up when it's raining. Did you know the shell fits over a standard BC Parks picnic table? Regards, Brian Vancouver
Hey guys thanks for posting the pic of me on Facebook with my new tent. I'm 6' 4" and I finally have a tent that works and fits me. I stood up and changed gear in the HUGE vestibule, I am still amazed that I was able to do this. Even with my 1150 GS loaded, I still had room to maneuver through the vestibule and tent areas.
I cracked a beer, pulled the tent out of the bag and had it erected in less than 10 minutes. I didn't even read the instructions. Piece of cake..... You guys are going to be millionaires! Kris Brenneman BMW Rally
We did a dry run setting up the new tent tonight (thanks again for that) and it is just AWESOME!! Very impressed with the improvements, especially because I thought version 1 was pretty much perfect. Can’t wait to sleep in it Thursday night. Also impressed how much roomier it is and how small it packs up. Excellent work. I am sure the Redverz brand will be growing in leaps and bounds with this type of quality product behind it. Kurt , Black Dog Cycle Works
My return trip from the recent ADVrider Rally in Darby (5264 miles in total) had me in Carrington, ND for an evening. While refueling I found out that camping in the local city park was acceptable. Looking around there was evidence that they had had lots of rain so far this year.
I found out that the evening forecast was for severe thunderstorms, the possibility of a tornado and/or hail, high winds and much more rain — all beginning near midnight.
About 11:30 PM I woke to the sound of a telephone in the fifth-wheel. Soon after, the light outside the door came on and Bud (the owner) came outside and said they were going to their daughter’s house in town since tornadoes were now forecast for the area. They invited me to go with them. I accepted. We were there at the daughter’s house (she is a local city policewoman) until about 2:00 AM before the severe storm threat passed. The biggest threat of a tornado had actually gone a bit south of Carrington, north of Jamestown, ND. Back at the city park, the tent was OK and the bike was still standing. The rain from the storm (so far) had the ground around the tent covered to about 1/2″ deep, but everything inside was OK. I climbed in and went to sleep. I woke up about 4:30 AM. The rain continued off-and-on, varying from very hard to a light drizzle.
During one of the light drizzle periods I went over to the rest room and then sat under a covered area until daybreak. The water in the garage section of the Nomad was now near two inches deep. Amazingly enough, the tub of the inner tent had kept all of the water out of the tent. I had some drops of water from the top — water through the mesh around the large end door of the inner tent — but nothing through the material of the tub.
The rain finally stopped at about 6:00 AM. I moved the bike so it was under the covered area and loaded it there. The tent was sitting in a lake of water. I rolled the tent up (without removing the inner tent nor the ground cloth) while standing in water up to my ankles in my shower shoes. I have to say that the tent was pretty impressive through it all. The TV people were estimating the possibility of 70/80 MPH winds, hail and lots of rain (it must have been five or six inches). Chuck Hoefflin
I purchase the green tent ( Series II) a couple weeks back and have since used it for two nights at 8000 FT elevation. The inner tent was remarkably warmer than the garage and the garage was nicely warmer than the outside air temp at 30F. My first set up took all of 10 minutes single handed, and tear down at 5AM took 15 minutes. 2 people could whip this tent up and down in just a couple minutes. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to be able to stand and get the riding gear on, as well as sit and eat chow, mosquito free. The zippers all worked very well without dragging due to over stretched fabric and the green color blended in with the Forrest. I look forward to more outings with this tent. Jim Morrison
I writing because my son and I are completely spoiled by your tents! With our Ténéré Expedition tents we can leave the bike covers at home and easily pack everything we need without overloading. The attached picture was taken at Garner State Park, west of San Antonio last Thanksgiving. When we arrived the temperature in the 80's, overnight a windy cold front hit leaving us in the lower 40's. We were comfortable and had no problems with the high gusting winds. With our bikes safely tucked away through the wind storm they were clean and ready to go in the morning.
We'll be camping our way from Texas to Montréal and back this summer. Our test trips with your tents have let us feel confident that the 4,500 mile trip will be a comfortable, great time. Thanks for a great design and product! Jay and Logan Elewitz Texas- Harley Ultra Classics
Kevin.....well the trip to Alaska is already history, amazing place....wide open spaces, laid back folks and lots of daylight. We had a great time and the tent worked flawlessly, had four of us in the garage one evening eating ramen and sitting out the rain. I was the envy of the other three guys with my Rog- Mahal as they called it!! Thanks again for your great customer service, it certainly reduced my stress level prior to leaving!!Roger Woodward
...The Tent I bought from you a couple of weeks ago
in action, sort of. Where's the bike? At home. This was a "keep the
family happy" camping trip, in return for being allowed to gig with my
band. Hope to actually put the bike in the tent soon. Tent holds one
adult and two kids in the sleeping section and one dad in the
garage/doghouse. Nothing new there.
I would recommend this tent to anyone. Fantastic.Steve Ballard, Ontario, Canada
You're a credit to your company ... there are few (though I've had the sheer pleasure of dealing with some of those few) companies on or off the internet which care enough about their customers to intervene in their behalf. Please feel free to share this correspondence with anyone who might need a heads up. I certainly do intend to use your tent if it arrives in time, though to call it just a tent is a bit of a slur ... I have done more than a few tents in my time ... this thing promises to be something akin to a B&B sans the hosts ... and with garaging to boot. David Hart, MA
The Nomad tent should be put up for an award; it will save the marriage of many camping couples.
I’m 6’4” and used to motorcycle camping with my wife in a normal 4 man tent.
Getting all the gear into the tent in adverse conditions was a nightmare, getting dressed inside the tent was comical.
The Nomad tent has put all that behind us.
BN (Before Nomad):
Wife: “Don’t bring the mud in here!”
Me: “What would you like me to do? – leave the gear outside in the rain?!
Wife: “Would you get your elbow out of my face!”
Me: “Sorry dear”
AN (After Nomad):
Wife: <Silence>
Me: <Contented smile>
Get a Nomad tent!, it’s a lot cheaper than a divorce :) Roger F. Allen www.alti-2.com
I ordered one of your tents last week -- it arrived on Thursday, and byThursday night it was set up and my step-son was sleeping in it! I LOVE
IT! My brother-in-law from eastern Washington came over yesterday and spent
the night in it and he loves it. We both ride BMW 1200 GS's with full
panniers. In fact, he took it home with him so he and his wife could
try it out in their backyard. I'll get it back from him next week. Tom Phelps Steilacoom, WA
I thought I would send you some pics of me and my new tent from my first time using it. I went to the Oregon coast for a 3 day camping trip with a bunch of friends. Also, I thought I would send you some feedback as well. I LOVE my new tent and will use it often! Just so you know it is absolutely perfect! I can stand up in the garage and my bike fits inside and there is plenty of room for 2 in the sleeping area. Awesome! Thanks guys!! Harley Road King, Eric Rogers, CA
Tents a hit. I will see if i can get u a photo with a pile of people gawking at it. Cheers. Jim.Just wanted to let you know I received the tent today, I& I've already had it out and set up with the bike in the garage. All I can say so far is it is more than I expected. As I told you before I've been camping a long time and to find a product as well put together as yours, is simply amazing. Jack L. Smith, Jr. Texas
We just got back from a great rally in Soldiers' Field, Wisconsin and kept staring at the two nomads set up there. People would "sneak" up to the tents to get a peek inside while their residents were in the beer tent. peter and I snuck up to one of the Nomad tents with two virtual strangers to get a peek. We now MUST have one. I'm sick and tired of dressing horizontally, not to mention sleeping with my dirty clothes right there, adding to the camping experience. We're getting one! JanisWhat a surprise! A manufacturer updating a purchase at no charge! Refreshing and many thanks! Thanks again!Jack Robertson OH
This is the most awesome tent I've ever used, took it out for the first time last weekend and everyojne had to come look at it- Kevin you have a hit on your hands...Jack, Hoka Hey ChallengeCongratulations. Just looking at your website makes me wanting to buy a tent! Absolute fantastic job. Dagmar Germany
Dave picked up the tent in Pt. Roberts yesterday and last night we erected it in our underground parking lot! We are pleasantly surprised at how big it is and love the fact that we can put two air mattresses side by side and there is still room to step into the sleeping area without stepping onto the beds. I think this tent would be great for everyone, kayakers, bicyclists, surfers, scuba divers, etc. simply because of the ability to store sporting goods and stand up as well. Ane and Dave Vancouver
I wanted to thank you again for the tent and all your help. i must say all my friends love it and think it is the best idea ever. i hope that they order one for themselves.michael, canada
That tent is awesome. It fit our two bikes with room to dress and get in and out of the tent. It was the talk of the campfire. People were really blown away that I had a garage for my bike. It was even raining the first day and our dirtbikes were nice and cozy. I can't explain it, but there's something comforting sleeping next to your bike. I would just sit in the tent and stare at it.
Functionally, I think it's designed perfectly. The only things we noticed were maybe more storage, like raising the pockets up so they don't hang on the floor, and maybe a few clips or loops to hang lights or an attic net. Set up is a breeze. It takes no time to get the thing up and it stood up to some pretty heavy winds. The sleeping compartment fit two of us comfortably with one of us on a cot. It was awesome, I really was so happy to be sleeping in the Nomad. Jim, Portland
